GEUS is a research institute within the Danish Ministry of Energy, Utilities and Climate with about 350 employees in 10 departments working within environment, water and natural resources. GEUS has an advisory role to the ministries, local authorities and the water industry. GEUS is responsible for the national database on geology and water resources, the groundwater part of the national monitoring programme and the national hydrological model (integrated groundwater/surface water). GEUS water resources group has been strongly involved in European projects (e.g., Horizon2020, FP5-7, INTERREG, NORDFORSK and BONUS projects) and GEUS has coordinated and participated in several strategic research projects funded by the Danish Strategic Research Council. GEUS participate in the project with all its knowledge related to field work, databases, geological and hydrological modelling, disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation in relation to insurance value of ecosystems, nature based solutions and groundwater.
